The Caterpillar Communication Adapter 3 is a shop diagnostic scanner built to work with Caterpillar heavy-duty vehicles and Caterpillar engines. This adapter connects to any computer and can perform all diagnostic services for all models of Caterpillar vehicles and engines with electronic controls.
The user can view the status of a group of parameters (temperatures, pressures, etc.) simultaneously, view active and cleared diagnostics, display the current configuration of an ECM (Electronic Control Modules) and much more.
Service tools provide information and features necessary to help a technician diagnose problems, perform repairs, and customize the operation of a product. Functions extend beyond the capabilities of pre-programmed ECMs or on-board display systems, fine-tuning performance and diagnosing the cause of a failure the first time.
In addition, the SIS database, which includes spare parts catalog for all Caterpillar engine technique and repair information for all Caterpillar engines, can be purchased separately.
With the CAT Diagnostic Tool, you can:
